What time does school start and end?

Elementary school starts at 8:45am and ends at 3:00pm.

Middle/High School starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm.

Does Excel provide before- and after-school care?

We offer it at our elementary campus. The cost is $4.00/day for before-school care or $6.00/day for after-school care, with a maximum of $8.00/day.

Before-school care starts at 7:30am.

After-school care ends at 5:30pm.

Does Excel have chapel time?

Students have Bible Class/Christian Studies Monday through Thursday and chapel every Friday.

What curriculum does Excel use?

We use a mix of various publishers. Our goal is to find the best curriculum for each subject and each grade. Teachers have input as to which curriculum fits their teaching style and the needs of their students.

Can homeschoolers be involved with Excel?

Many of our staff and students have homeschooled in the past, so we really appreciate the homeschooling movement. We invite middle/high school homeschoolers to enroll for any classes they would like to take. They can also be involved in our sports program and take part in the testing we offer.

Does Excel Middle/High School offer Honors/AP classes?

Middle/high school core academic classes offer the opportunity for honors credits. Currently we offer three AP high school classes: American History, English Language, and English Literature.

What testing does Excel provide?

Each year we give standardized tests to some or all grades. We administer the Nevada state writing proficiency test to 5th and 8th graders and the high school proficiency exam to all high schoolers. For high school we also offer the PSAT test in the fall and AP exams in the spring.
