Board Chairman

David Sanders has been on the Board of Excel Christian School since 2005.  He brings to the board over 18 years experience in university education.  He is a professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Iowa State University and then a Masters and PhD from University of Texas, Austin.  David teaches in the area of structural design and conducts research in seismic analysis and bridge design.

David has also worked with youth.  He has taught 5th and 6th grade Sunday School and Children's Church.  He has coached baseball and soccer for more than 14 seasons.  He has been a scoutmaster and is currently an assistant scoutmaster.  He enjoys hiking, skiing, backpacking, camping, golfing and anything that involves the family.  He has been married to  his wonderful wife Tina for 21 years and has two fantastic children who attend Excel.

God wants to be involved in all parts of our lives.  It is not supposed to be work, family and then church/God, each in its own compartment.  Excel Christian School enables God to become a larger part of these children's lives.  The power and love of Jesus Christ is the base that the school uses to build strong academics but also provide the kids a way to address today's issues through Christ-centered solutions and perspectives.
